Village Green & Stanhope Drive Water Main Replacement Construction Project
The Town of Norfolk Water Division is pleased to notify you of the upcoming construction project on Village Green and Stanhope Drive. The project will include replacing the aging water main and water services along Village Green and Stanhope Drive, sidewalk installation/replacement and paving.
Work is planned to start Monday May 6th 2024 and last approximately 6-8 weeks. Expected work hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday thru Friday, however some work may be completed on Saturdays where required by project schedule.
May 15, 2024 - Update
Install Temporary Water Main By-Pass System: The contractor has set up a temporary “by-pass” system that consists of above-ground piping along the sides of the street that will connect to your home. Driveway ramps and other egress structures will be temporarily constructed to allow vehicles to drive over the by-pass system.
Temporary Water Main By-Pass Connection: The contractor along with NWD staff will connect your residence to the temporary “by-pass” system. Each residence will be assessed on a case by case basis, as to the best method to connect your home to the system. Connecting is currently scheduled to start Wednesday, 5/22/2024 and go through Friday, 5/24/2024.
NWD staff will need access into your residence to connect you to the temporary by-pass system and if required, turn off you existing water service. We will start on Village Green and work our way around Stanhope Drive. We will attempt to reach each homeowner as we move through the connection process. Water bills are collected at the Treasurer / Collector's Office
The Norfolk Water Division is on call 24 hours a day. In case of emergency call the Norfolk Police Department at 508-528-3206.
